My fascination with color began early in life, inspired by the vibrant hues of nature – flowers, the boundless colors of the sky, and the deep shades of night. As a golfer, I've always found these colors most captivating on the golf course.
A serendipitous discovery during my son's 6th-grade science project forever changed my artistic path. Experimenting with golf balls, we sliced one open and were amazed by the rainbow of colors hidden within such a small object. This moment sparked my journey as an artist.
I draw inspiration from the vast palette found in golf balls, from electric pinks to bold blues. Their colors guide my hand, leading to works that are both visually stunning and reminiscent of the natural world. I find a deep connection in transforming these everyday objects into art.
Committed to sustainability, I primarily use reclaimed materials. My artwork repurposes found golf balls, integrates turf made from recycled plastic bottles, and is often displayed in frames crafted from reclaimed wood.
Viewers often express surprise and delight at the unexpected beauty I reveal within a simple golf ball. My work constantly reminds me of the potential to repurpose and reimagine the discarded. In a world where we can easily take things for granted, my art celebrates the beauty and possibility inherent in transformation.
